Peter bio
I am inspired as a landscape painter by the
places with which I feel an intimate connection. These places have included the
lake areas of Ontario’s Cambrian shield in Muskoka; one series focussing on
Muldrew lake where my family had a cottage. I am presently working on a series
of paintings inspired by the shorelines of Go Home lake ,just east of Georgian Bay.
In BC my subjects have included the west
coast of Vancouver Island, north of Sooke as well as Saltspring Island. The
southern Cariboo region near the town of Clinton and the Big Bar area have also
served as subjects for my paintings.
All of my paintings are extrapolated from
photographs I have taken- emphasizing lines, shapes and colours that would otherwise be missed at a glance.
